Care2 Welcomes Dana Weissman to Nonprofit Services

dana_weissman_care2.jpgWe are very pleased to announce the newest member of the Care2 team: Dana Weissman.

Dana is a new Director of Nonprofit Services at Care2, with special responsibility for working with Care2’s nonprofit clients in the Children’s/Youth and K-12 Education sectors. Dana will be the first member of our team to be based in New York City.

Dana comes to Care2 after almost six years in a senior marketing role at the nonprofit 92nd Street Y, the famous community and cultural center on New York’s Upper East Side. Part of Dana’s role there was to ensure enough “butts in seats” at the Y’s many performances. But she also led efforts to secure sponsorships for the Y’s annual street festival, a mega-event in which the Y takes over 15 city blocks, attracting more than 200,000 people. Previously, Dana also sold online advertising for Womensforum.com, a large network of assorted websites for women.

In addition to her advertising and marketing experience, Dana brings to Care2 a longtime devotion to several causes, dating back to her time at Tufts University (where one of her classmates was our own Heather Holdridge). At Tufts, Dana started a group called Tufts Voice for Choice. Dana later worked for Planned Parenthood, NARAL, the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus and other groups. Dana also is a former restaurant reviewer in San Francisco, and a published author, reporter and editor. Not surprisingly for someone working at Care2, Dana loves animals – especially her Boston Terrier, Lulu.

Reach out to Dana by emailing her here.
