Boosting Campaigns' Impact on Members of Congress

Last month our colleague Joe Baker, who is Care2's VP for Advocacy and Causes, moderated a 3-hour web-streamed "Advocacy Live" event that was pretty terrific, considering how insightful were the discussions and data presented by some of the most accomplished online advocacy pro's in the nonprofit sector.

The panelists included online advocacy pro's from Amnesty International, AARP, ACLU, HSUS and Defenders of Wildlife, as well as veteran consultants from M+R Strategic Services, Zuri Group and Blackbaud (it was Blackbaud that co-hosted the event with Care2). One very revealing panel included Eric Jones, the top technology person for Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, who provided tips and advice about ways that online organizers might boost their campaigns' impact on members of Congress and their staffers.

If you missed the Advocacy Live event, there's good news:  Blackbaud's Steve MacLaughlin has just posted all the recorded video sessions over on his blog. Check it out!
