Care2 Impact Prize Awarded to Phil Aroneanu of 350.org

Huge congrats to Phil Aroneanu of 350.org for winning the 2011 Care2 Impact Prize for his outstanding impact in online advocacy and fundraising. Aroneanu garnered the most votes from the NTEN community, from among a pool of finalists that included founders of Kiva.org and KaBoom, as well as leaders of Network for Good and Watershed Company.  Care2 Founder Randy Paynter delivered the exciting news yesterday during NTC and praised Aroneanu for his role in organizing 350.org's simultaneous event in 181 countries, to fight global warming which CNN called "the largest day of political action in the planet's history." Check out Clint O'Brien's, Care2's Vice President of Nonprofit Services interview with Aroneanu discussing how 350.org organized one of the largest climate change campaigns in history by levergaing technology and traditional organizing. He also stressed how important it is for leaders in movements to listen and to provide infrastructure where people feel that they are part of something that is bigger then themselves.
