When Hurricane Harvey landed in Texas, animal shelters across the state were filled to capacity. Even adoptable pets in no-kill shelters were in danger. North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) , the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization, was able to step in to protect these vulnerable dogs and puppies, but they needed an influx of donations to keep their rescue efforts afloat.
Because NSALA was proactive in acquiring new Care2 supporters at the beginning of their fiscal year, they had just acquired a new file of engaged, passionate, and caring supporters when Hurricane Harvey hit.
With the help of its digital agency Sanky Communications, NSALA emailed their file of Care2 supporters acquired over the years (including the newly-recruited folks!) with emergency appeals for help. Care2 members jumped into action and responded with overwhelming support.
