The boomer generation was long the darling of marketers and advertisers, then they grew up.
While boomers are the consumer majority and tend to be the segment with the highest dollar donations to nonprofits, they're often dismissed as not being part of the social media wave.
Learn from Immersion Active and AARP in this Care2 Expert Webinar that focuses on new ways of showing some love to the influential seniors segment through social media tactics that engage and cultivate supporters and potential donors.
In this webinar you'll learn:
Presented By:
Gina Pagliaro -- Account Strategist, Immersion Active
Jen Martin -- Manager of Social Communications, AARP
As Social Communications Manager for AARP, Jen works closely with various departments at AARP and the AARP Foundation in developing and promoting messages via social media, and forecasting ways to increase reach, activity and engagement across all portfolios. She also manages a cache of bloggers, including Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock played her in the Blind Side) all of whom feed content into her various portfolios. Her favorite role however, is that of leading the Drive to End Hunger social team. In addition to tweeting races live from the pits, Jen and her team ensure that fans have access to the latest promotions, news and donation information. Last year, they raised $10,000 (without paid media) via the Razoo platform and this year, the winner of the top prize again came from social media. Jen holds a Masters of Communications from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland. You can follow her on Twitter at@iheartrocknroll.
Molly Connors – Director of Nonprofit Services, Care2
Molly learned first hand the power of having a ready and dedicated list of supporters to turn to for support and donations during her many years with PBS. Molly was one of a team of three who started PBS Online in the mid 1990s, the precursor to pbs.org. Molly started her marketing career over 20 years ago on the front lines... working in customer service for a Richmond, Virginia cable company. Those early lessons in the importance of providing exceptional customer service were invaluable as she built a career in marketing and business development with companies such as C-SPAN, The Learning Channel (TLC), PBS, the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and most recently in starting her own Women Owned Small Business providing marketing services and branded product solutions to clients.
